Which Relationship is Created by Lookups in Dynamics 365

In this post, we will look at what type of relationship is created by a lookup.

Let’s say we have 2 custom entities, Table A and Table B:

Now, let’s add a lookup on Table A, to Table B. We create a new column, and set the type to lookup and select Table B:

Now, on Table A, if we go to Relationships, we see the table is a Many to one, or N to 1:

If we go to Table B, we see it is a One-to-Many, or 1:N relationship created:

So that’s it. A lookup will create a Many-to-One relationship.
