How to Find Dependencies when Deleting Resources in Dynamics 365 Power Apps

In this post, we will look at how to find dependencies in Dynamics 365 Power Apps solutions. First, let’s create a new solution, and add the Contact entity to the solution. We will then add 2 new fields, New Field 1 and New Field 2:

And we will add these fields to the Contact form:

Now, let’s say a user wants to delete the field New Field 1. They can select the field, and click Delete Field:

However, this displays the message “There are dependencies on this field that are preventing it from being deleted”:

To find these dependencies, select the field and click Show Dependencies from the toolbar. Note, if you do not click the field, it will show all dependencies for the Contact entity in this case:

We see in the dependencies that the field is being used by the Contact form:

Remove the field from the form, then

Now you are allowed to delete the field and save the entity:
